Let’s begin with a tweet from Keir Starmer yesterday, boasting how he has reduced net migration. The key is “net” migration, which is immigration (people entering the UK) minus emigration (Brits leaving the UK).

Net Migration and Asylum Claims Have Fallen – Here’s What the Latest Figures Tell Us
The latest figures on immigration to the UK show a sharp decline in net migration, which is now at its lowest point since 2012, excluding the pandemic years.
The sharp decline results primarily from lower immigration of workers and the family members of international students. However, while migration of groups that make positive or broadly neutral economic contributions, such as migrant workers, has fallen, asylum-related migration has remained at similar levels since late 2022.
Since refugees have lower employment rates and often need a lot of support from the state, this means that the composition of recent migration has become less favourable from an economic perspective.
While net migration is on a downward trajectory, it is still positive, meaning that the foreign-born population in the UK continues to grow.
The decline in the number of people claiming asylum fell by 12%. This was driven in large part by a reduction in asylum claims from Syrian nationals after the fall of the Assad regime.

Since the crushing result of this month’s local elections in the UK, Prime Minister Keir Starmer of the United Kingdom has been facing mounting pressure from within his very own Labour Party to step down.
The Labour “bench,” in the meantime, is searching for a new mission to sell to British voters, in an effort to rescue the party from historic lows in popularity.
According to a recent piece by Bloomberg, one of the bolder new ideas is a push to rejoin the European Union.

The new nationalisation bill which the Government hopes to use to take over British Steel is not fit for purpose. Additionally, governments should not run businesses.

The above is just a drop in the ocean, yet from these few reports, it is plain to see that Keir Starmer and his cronies, that is the UK government, are the problem, not the solution. No amount of rhetoric that spews from Starmer et al can convince the public otherwise.
