Silbermann believes that AfD’s recent historic victory is not because of a shift towards “far-right extremism” but rather due to citizens having had enough and believing things have to change, and they have no choice but to vote for the party which promises those changes, which happens to be a right-wing party.
In his open letter, “Fritz” agrees, highlighting another significant problem – ideologues on the political left who are determined to deny Germans their right to vote.

Earlier this month, the Alternative for Germany (“AfD”) party achieved historic victories in two key German state elections, marking a significant shift in national politics.
Founded in 2013 as a Eurosceptic movement, the party has shifted its focus to anti-immigration and nationalist policies, becoming the largest opposition party in the federal Bundestag with 152 seats.
On 9 September, New Eastern Outlook (“NEO”) published an article by Jeffrey Silbermann, a freelance journalist and international development specialist, BSc, MSc, based for 30 years in Georgia and the former Soviet Union.
“The AfD’s victory in Saxony-Anhalt is not a triumph of right‑wing extremism but a signal that German voters are tired of a system that spends billions on rearmament and Ukraine while forgetting its own citizens,” he surmised. “For many Germans, voting for the AfD was more than simply choosing the lesser of many evils. It was a statement that things have to change.”
In a message to readers, Silbermann commented on his article: “With the AfD’s recent historic victory capturing the plurality of the vote in the regional elections, the political landscape has shifted fundamentally.”

I am glad you appreciated the article on NEO, as well as the other pieces that have been circulated among like-minded colleagues.
With the AfD’s recent historic victory capturing the plurality of the vote in the regional elections, the political landscape has shifted fundamentally.
Please continue sharing your observations on the party’s trajectory and how this political snowball effect will play out across the country. We should focus on substantive, ground-level analysis rather than the sensationalised “Deutsche Welle” style reporting that treats every shift as an existential crisis – at least for the traditional establishment parties that have repeatedly failed to deliver.
The voters have sent a clear message, and the era of political manoeuvring is drawing to a close. It is time for Friedrich Merz and the CDU leadership to fish or cut bait.

Fritz: Open Letter
Hello Jeffrey,
Thank you very much for your information about the Banana Republic of Germany, which is prone to political scandals, and I have here some more for you.
Over the course of many decades, various governments in the “Banana Republic of Germany” have perpetrated a pension fraud against the citizenry; furthermore, these brazen swindlers actually expect the pensioners they have defrauded to pay taxes to them – a practice that also constitutes unjustified double taxation, given that the pensioners had already paid taxes on the money before contributing it to their pension funds. Pensioners thus should not pay any tax on their pension.
Moreover, I have received from Germans living in Papua New Guinea, New Zealand and Australia complaints that election documents and ballot papers
for the state elections in Saxony-Anhalt, Berlin and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania have arrived too late, so that they are basically deprived of their right to vote for the German state parliaments. That is a common, old, continuing failure of the German election system. And this all is happening because the Banana Republic of Germany is run by a green-influenced incompetent and degenerated Epstein-elite, bunglers, botchers and Pinocchios which have still approximately 55 % of dedicated blind followers and lackeys.
Priority airmail letters between Germany and Papua New Guinea, New Zealand and Australia take 3 weeks, in which at least two weeks are wasted on customs clearance and the subsequent sorting – and tracking process in logistic postal centres in the above-named countries. Since the Covid 1984 Scam Plandemic the international airmail-service also has deteriorated.
For example, my German friend in Sydney, Australia, only received his election documents and ballot papers – which were posted in Berlin on 25 August 2026 – 22 days later, on 15 September 2026. According to German electoral law, he must ensure that these documents arrive at the electoral office in Berlin on election day, 20 September 2026. How is he supposed to manage that when priority airmail takes three weeks to reach Berlin? Even premium express courier services (like DHL Express) take eight days. This effectively excludes him from voting and denies him his right to vote. And this happened to many other Germans staying in overseas countries.
The solution to this problem would be to organise election preparations so that election documents and ballots are sent to Germans abroad seven weeks before the election to ensure that recipient voters can return the ballots in time.
Another solution would be for the electoral offices in Germany to send the election documents and ballots by premium courier express services (like DHL Express).
I am a Swiss citizen and, like many other citizens of other countries, am allowed to vote at my embassy. Most commonly for other countries, non-resident voters there can cast their ballots in person at diplomatic missions, an embassy or consulate – other physical locations of their residence in an overseas country.
Why are Germans not allowed to do this? Because the Banana Republic of Germany is run by a green-influenced incompetent and degenerated Epstein-elite, bunglers, botchers and Pinocchios which have still approx. 55 % of dedicated blind followers and lackeys.
And then there are those Germans – with nothing going on upstairs – who want to deny Germans living abroad the right to vote, but at the same time believe that foreigners in Germany should be allowed to vote there. In principle, however, foreigners residing in a host country do not have the right to vote in that country’s parliamentary elections.
