Svenska för invandrare, or Sweden for Immigration (“SFI”), is a free adult education course to teach Swedish to immigrants that all Swedish municipalities are legally responsible for organising and funding.
A new survey conducted by SFI exposes the cultural value gaps between migrants and the “liberal” views of Sweden.
Almost every second respondent who participated in SFI’s survey showed opinions and values that are contrary to the political correctness programme in Sweden, Freedom News reports.
The survey’s result has led the leader of the Liberal Party and Minister of Education and Integration Simona Mohamsson to say that she is “afraid of the dark … [because] every second person who attends SFI is homophobic.”

New Report Scares Minister: Immigrants Reject Left-Liberal Values

A government-commissioned study on migrants’ values in Sweden shows major differences in issues such as sexuality and individual self-determination. The study has been produced by research leader Bi Puranen, Secretary General of the World Values Survey, together with the Institute for Futures Studies.
Almost One In Two Rejects Homosexuality
Among participants in SFI (Swedish for Immigrants) who answered the question, 48 per cent stated that homosexuality is unacceptable. The figure is uncertain because fewer than four out of ten respondents responded, but according to the study, the difference with the Swedish population as a whole is large. Minister of Education and Integration, as well as Liberal Party leader, Simona Mohamsson, has reacted strongly, TV4 reports.
“I am scared of the dark by the fact that almost every second person who attends SFI is homophobic. When it’s so incredibly important with the Swedish values, with the right to love whoever you want,” she says.
On X, the Liberal leader also directs criticism at the left: “The value gap in Sweden is a fact. To all of you who have turned a blind eye to this, not least on the left – time to wake up.”
Mohamsson, who himself has an immigrant background, is one of the politicians who has recently rejected the importance of ethnicity in order to be called “Swedish.” The only criterion she has set is that they should support “liberal values.”
The Gap Is Not Going Away Quickly
The study shows that values regarding family, sexuality and individual self-determination change more slowly than, for example, the view of work and public institutions. According to Puranen, it may take about ten years before clear changes are visible in certain areas.
At the same time, the material shows that resistance to homosexuality decreases among people with an immigrant background after a long time in Sweden.
One In Five Has Never Worked
The problems are not only about values. One in five migrants who have lived in Sweden for more than 20 years state that they have never been gainfully employed. In vulnerable areas, the proportion is approaching one in three. Among newly arrived SFI participants, as many as 43 per cent state that they have never been gainfully employed.
The report that is now being presented is the latest blow in a short time to the multicultural society in Sweden. Last week, Frihetsnytt drew attention to a report from Statistics Sweden that second-generation immigrants did not feel at home in Sweden and did not feel any trust in Swedish authorities. This is despite all the several billions that have been pumped into integration and diversity projects.
